Bevo Francis was one of the greatest college basketball players of all time and he called Gallia County Home. He scored 116 points without the 3-point line in one game and held the NCAA record of 113 points in a game. I didn't know him personally however, everyone knows who Bevo Francis is. I spent most of my childhood in Rio Grande, I learned to swim at the Lyne Center, participated academic festivals and attended the University in the PSEO program. Every time I was in the gym someone would always point out the number 32 Jersey hanging from the ceiling and talk about his accomplishments. This post goes out to his family and loved ones, Bevo was always behind this community and we will continue to uphold his legacy.
