French City Writers’ Guild (All ages) July 5 6:00pm – 7:30pm Bossard Memorial Library 7 Spruce Street Gallipolis, OH 45631 Are you interested in creative writing? Do you want to be able to share your ideas and written works? If so, you are cordially invited to join the French City Writers’ Guild at Bossard Memorial Library. The Writers’ Guild is an open forum writing group that enables you to share your works and meet others who share your passion for writing. Our goal is to provide a comfortable place for people to discuss their written works and receive constructive feedback from the members of the Guild. Creative writing exercises will be conducted at select meetings as well. Two different meetings will be held quarterly, on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The Tuesday sessions will be for all ages and friendly for a younger audience. Thursday evening sessions will be held for those 18 years of age and older, as works containing more mature content may be shared. Meetings will be held from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. on their respective nights. Light refreshments will be provided. This is a high energy and zany theatrical performance complete with a variety of live animals. You will see reptiles, amphibians, mammals, birds, and bugs for an experience everyone will remember. Learn about the natural world as you see and touch the animals. Show 1 starts at 1:00pm and Show 2 starts at 3:00pm. Due to room occupancy codes/fire regulations, will be limiting this program to the first 400 attendees at the 1:00pm show & first 400 attendees at the 3:00 pm show. So that everyone has a chance to see the animals, please choose either the 1:00pm Show or the 3:00pm Show. Please do not attend both programs. All ages are welcome and this event is free and open to the public. Soccer Team Camp at URG (girls) July 9 - 12 University of Rio Grande College Avenue Rio Grande, OH 45674 A team camp for girl’s high school squads is planned for July 9th-12th. Cost is $270. Fees for the residential camps include lodging, meals, training sessions and tournament play. Cost is $285 per camper which includes lodging, meals, a certificate of participation and a camp t-shirt. Campers will also receive 24-hour supervision from coaches and counselors; lectures/discussions groups and film sessions; daily instructions on shooting, ball handling, post play and defense, and use of the school’s swimming pool. There will also be a camp store featuring drinks, snacks, pizza and Rio Grande apparel for sale each day. Veteran Rio Grande woman’s basketball head coach David Smalley, who ranks among the top 10 coaches on the active wins list with more than 500, will be the camp director.
