If you haven't already heard, downtown Gallipolis is now host to a special community event called First Friday. First Friday is a downtown after-hours extravaganza! You will find live music, giveaways, photo booths, karaoke, discounts, special deals and much more! Local businesses, stores, restaurants and organizations in the downtown area participate. So, if there is a downtown shop you have always wanted to check out; this event is the perfect excuse! To know if organizations are participating in the event, look for two things: Lights displayed on their building and the First Friday logo on their door or windows! This event is held on, you guessed it, the first Friday of each month primarily between Court and Locust on Second Avenue. The next event will be July 7th!

- You DO NOT need to purchase a ticket to attend these events.
- If your favorite local artist is performing, bring a chair and hang out.
- A great time to take the 2017 City Passport Challenge.
- Rain or Shine First Friday still goes on!
- First Friday is expanding to include more businesses beyond Court and Locust, so keep an eye out.
One big question we get is whether or not First Friday will continue after July. All pleas for the continuation into the fall have been passed on to the organizers of the event, a group of members of the Gallia County Chamber of Commerce. We look forward to their decision and will update the public as we learn more!
The GCCVB always participates in First Friday so we invite you to come down to our office! We have local/regional/state tourist information and fun local events, such as, 2017 Passport Challenges and Gallia County BBQ Fest!! The Bureau will also have a special guest.....the one....the only...SANTA CLAUS! Who knows maybe you will get some of your Christmas shopping done at First Friday!!
