A special sensory friendly performance, designed for families with children identifying on the Autism spectrum will be presented on Friday, May 12, at 7:00 p.m.  The sensory friendly performance is free of charge, and will include less sensory stimulation, such as more uniform sound and light levels.  The French Art Colony’s Riverby Theatre Guild has participated in special training from VSA Ohio to better serve the community with inclusive programming.

Intermediate blacksmithing: expanding on the techniques of recurls, bends and tapers to make a drive hook and a wall hook. Please wear long pants, closed toe shoes and cotton shirts. Nothing low cut or full of holes. Also, it is strongly recommend that students bring hearing protection, safety goggles and unlined leather gloves.

Class is taught by Courtney Richie. No previous experience necessary. Small refreshments will be provided during the 3 hour class. Basic option available until class time first come first served.
Price Options:
Basic $35 - includes use of my paint and brushes and take home the double sided printed page painted during the class.
Deluxe $45 - take home a Winsor & Newton Cotman watercolor paint kit and the double sided printed page painted during class.
Instruction will include:
-Brief overview of watercolor papers, brushes, pigments, and other equipment used.
-Demonstration of various watercolor techniques.
-Step by step, one-on-one walk through of each technique.
-Opportunity to be creative or to "follow the leader" as suits each individual.
-More advanced techniques presented depending on available time and student progress during the class.
-Each page used in class has the same image on each side, providing the opportunity to practice or use different color schemes.

The French Art Colony’s Riverby Theatre Guild invites local audiences to enjoy their performances of, “Charlotte’s Web”, based on the beloved children’s literature classic by E.B.White. The play, by Joseph Robinette, is directed by Betsy Willet, and is cast with local youth and adult actors. Showtimes for the barnyard adventure story are Saturday, May 13, at 2:00 and 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, May 14, at 2:00 p.m.  Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students.  Reservations can be made by calling The French art Colony, at 740-446-3834.

Charity Information: Gallipolis in Lights, a non-profit organization, is fundraising to help support our downtown Christmas lights for the 2017-18 holiday season. Our holiday light display is an amazing and unique experience for the entire community and neighboring communities to enjoy! We have our annual lighting on Thanksgiving Eve so please come join us for a wonderful family event.
More Information: ENTER THIS RACE if you want to be part of an AWESOME, UNIQUE, AND MEMORABLE EVENT!! This race is an ELECTRIC, GLOW-IN-THE-DARK, NEON COLORED FUN...FUN...FUN, RUN/WALK!! We encourage everyone to come in their own CREATIVE Glow-in-Dark outfits. The crazier, the better! Prizes will be awarded for your efforts!! There will be live music, inflatables, neon face painting, neon nails, and various activities for children/adults at the Gallipolis City Park beginning at 7PM. The actual 5K Run/Walk race starting at 9:00PM. The course will be lit up with various types of terrific lighting and awesome music along the way. All proceeds of this event will help Gallipolis in Lights purchase Christmas decor to light up Gallipolis, Ohio during the Christmas holiday season.
